On August 27, 2023, the "Lightweights" meeting will take place for the first time. This car meeting is aimed at vehicles weighing less than one ton. Three-digit kilogram figures for unladen weight were not uncommon in the past.
A Lotus Elan, for example, might weigh 670 kg, a Citroën 2 CV 560 kg, a VW Golf GTI Mk1 780 kg and an Opel GT 940 kg. With gasoline and four music cassettes, it could of course be a few kilograms more. Many lightweights also came from Italy and France, from Great Britain anyway, but 40 years ago the Germans still knew how to put cars weighing less than a ton on their wheels.
All of these cars are set to meet at Motorworld in Kemptthal on August 27, 2023. Organizer Daniel Koch has come up with something special for the entrance fee, as all cars will be weighed at the entrance. Up to 1000 kg, entry costs CHF 5.00. From 1000 kg, an additional CHF 5.00 must be paid per 10 kg. Vehicles weighing more than 1050 kg will then be lured to the visitor parking lot.
In addition to the car park, visitors will be offered a host of food trucks and bars, as well as services from the Motorworld Kemptthal range.
So if you have an Alpine A110, an Autobianchi, a BMW Isetta, a BMW 700, a Messerschmitt, a Lotus Europa, a TVR Grantura or a Citroën LN, to mention just a few examples, you are very welcome on August 27, 2023 from 09:00. Registration is not necessary! Just drive there.
The meeting lasts until about 16:00, so cars that are at the British Car Meeting in Mollis in the morning can still come by. After all, many lightweights came from the island.

P.S. If you're wondering which lightweight is in the photo above, please note that AI (artificial intelligence) created this fantasy product.
