From June 3 - 5, 2016, fans of classic mobility will come together at the Klassikwelt Bodensee sales and experience fair. Over 800 exhibitors, clubs and participants will be present in ten halls covering an area of 85,000 cm2 at the exhibition grounds in Friedrichshafen. For the ninth time, the classic car scene will ensure interesting, international encounters. Around 40,000 visitors from all over the world are expected to come to Lake Constance to admire exclusive collector's vehicles, but also to discover affordable and charming classic cars.
Klassikwelt Bodensee offers a comprehensive range for classic car enthusiasts and those looking for spare parts and accessories. Renowned vehicle dealers offer rolling rarities in all price ranges. From automobiles, motorcycles, boats and historic airplanes to watches, clothing and accessories. Offers for classic car rallies, travel, hotels and rare accessories round off the huge range. The new hall concept now offers a pure business area on the B-axis, while the A-axis is intended for special shows, clubs and activity areas.
Tips for professional restoration
Vintage cars in their original condition are still in demand and particularly valuable. This makes professional restoration all the more important today. Specialist companies will be giving tips on working on sheet metal and leather or on the engine or electrics, and the "Living Workshop" of the Schweinfurt Vehicle Academy will also be back with live demonstrations. The parts market in Hall B1 is the heart of the classic car fair. More than 120 parts market exhibitors will be offering the real treasures, where experts will be looking for urgently needed spare parts for their old favorites.
Visitors can get more tips at the Club Worlds. In addition to over 100 clubs from classic brands such as Audi and Mercedes, BMW, Alfa and Opel, the Lancia Delta Integrale Club Montafon and the Glas Automobilclub International will also be meeting here to talk petrol. The legend of Porsche and 100 years of BMW will be presented in special shows. 'Vive la France' is aimed at Francophiles and their attachment to French automobiles. Hall B4 will be a mecca for fans of shiny chrome US cars.
Pure racing feeling
At the vintage demo races on the ZF Motodrom, classic car enthusiasts can experience the pure racing feeling of glorious times up close. A special highlight on Friday and Saturday evening will be a Classic World Parade with vehicles from the Belle Epoque and vintage racing on the large exhibition mile.
"Weird" French cars
Anyone who opted for one of these, to put it mildly, somewhat "weird" French cars at the time was, at least in part, more regretted than admired; not only because of the often daring design language of these bodies, but also because of the mostly bizarre technology. You really had to have a lot of love for France and a thick skin to put up with the derisive comments.
If you drove a Citroen Ami 6, for example, you were an exotic on the road, but even the divine DS or a Renault 6 were not always to everyone's taste. On the other hand, a 2 CV and a Renault 4 were cult cars, especially among the students of 1968. And a Renault Alpine A 110 could easily compete with a Porsche 911 at the Monte Carlo Rally and in terms of design. Anyone driving a French exotic car to a classic car rally today is sure to attract just as much attention as the driver of a big Benz.
Klassikwelt Bodensee 2016 pays tribute to this development of Francophile vehicles and puts the spotlight on these ingenious cars at the special show "Vive la France - Driving like God in France". An absolute highlight will be a Bugatti and a Delahaye from the Schlumpf Collection car museum in Mulhouse. The French brands Bugatti, Delahaye, Renault, Peugeot, Citroën and many more will also be represented at the show.

Any owner of a French car built up to 1989 can take part if they apply by email by March 31, 2016. The vehicles will then be presented on the exhibition grounds in the ambience of a French street café. Tickets are now available in the online ticket store.
The sales and experience fair is open to spectators from Friday to Sunday from 10 am to 6 pm. The day ticket costs 16 euros, reduced admission is 14 euros.
