Every year in August, around 200 of the most beautiful and elegant collector cars and motorcycles from all over the world gather on the famous golf course in Pebble Beach. Tires meet grass and Pebble Beach becomes one of the largest and most influential beauty contests in the automotive world, the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance.
Beauty, style and elegance are what count
At the Concours, it is not speed or performance that counts, but beauty, historical correctness, technical merit, style and elegance. At the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance 2015, the following brands and classes will be honored; Ferrari, duPont, Pope, Designs by Carrozzeria Touring, post-war Cunninghams, Mercury Customs, British pre-war sports cars and Japanese motorcycles.
But it's not just the past that counts at Pebble Beach, as brand new concept cars from major manufacturers are often unveiled, such as the McLaren P1 GTR last year.
Classic car drive and auction
In addition to the Concours d'Elegance on Sunday, August 9, 2015, there is much more to see and experience in Pebble Beach. Firstly, the Tour d'Elegance will take place on Thursday, August 6, where the Concours participants will drive together through spruce and cypress forests, past steep cliffs and finally to Carmel-by-the-Sea to a beautiful bay to enjoy good food and good company. Visitors can admire the tour participants in their spruced-up automotive gems at key points along the route.
In addition, well-known and renowned auction houses will be auctioning off beautiful classic cars throughout the week. And on Sunday, the most beautiful and historic racing cars will race around the Laguna Seca circuit.
More information on ticket prices, the program, participants etc. can be found on the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance website.
