Mario Illien needs no further introduction: the engine builder from Chur has left his mark on international motorsport. The young Illien was already building racing engines while studying mechanical engineering. He made his breakthrough with the Ilmor company and today it is hard to imagine the racing scene without him. However, he also enjoys taking part in classic car rallies and has even driven from Beijing to Paris in a Citroën. Almost as part of his job, he also has a clear idea of what a good engine should look like and what needs to be taken into account.
In the first of several fireside chats in the Cigar Lounge of the Autohalle in Andelfingen, Zwischengas editor-in-chief Bruno von Rotz talks to Mario Illien and finds out how a man from Graubünden actually comes to build racing engines. Or why he likes to drive long-distance rallies or why he chose a Citroën Légère for his trip from Beijing to Paris.
The evening begins with a tasty 3-course dinner in the Autohalle restaurant "Lucie's Finest" from 18:30. At around 20:00, we will then head upstairs to the Cigar Lounge for a fireside chat. The evening comes to an end at around 21:00.
Of course, the evening guests can also explore the entire car showroom - after all, the reopening was only a good three weeks ago.
The evening, including a 3-course menu, costs CHF 74.00 per person. Places are very limited, so we recommend registering quickly.
You canregister directly on the Autohalle website.
