Italiauto is neither Pebble Beach nor Villa d'Este, it is a gathering of Italophile contemporaries with Italian automobiles. It doesn't matter whether the car brought along was built millions of times or whether it is a one-off. The main thing is that it inspires and beguiles.
The ninth edition of the popular event will take place for the second time on 1 May 2016 in the spacious setting of the former St. Urban monastery with its historic walls and colorful gardens. There's no better way to present Italian classics!
Italian classic cars in the center
Registered participants will be offered a lot for just 100 francs:
- Reserved exhibition space for classic cars 30 years old and older
- Concorso d'Eleganza judged by a jury of eleven experts led by Roger Gloor, Ferdi Hediger, Adriano Cimarosti and Jean-Marc Kohler; the category winners and special award winners will receive magnificent trophies
- Presentation of the participants in a catalog with photos and data
- Stylish picnic on the reserved lawn in the middle of the Concorso d`Eleganza
- Special exhibition "80 years of the Fiat Topolino"
- Guided tour of the monastery for those interested (surcharge 10 francs)
There are plenty of free visitor parking spaces available and the entire site is wheelchair-accessible
Attractive program
The venue at St. Urban Monastery is the perfect setting for this event.
From 09:00 (until 10:00) the participants of the Concorso d'Eleganza arrive at the St. Urban monastery.
The Concorso d'Eleganza will be judged by the expert jury until 13:00
During the judging, the participants and the public can view the Italian classic cars and the special exhibition "80 years of Fiat Topolino" in the idyllic park of the monastery.
Various catering options are offered by the monastery's restaurant. A stylish picnic on the reserved lawn in the middle of the Concorso d`Eleganza (picnic basket can be rented on site) is also possible.
A short ride for registered participants into the hilly and tranquil Lucerne hinterland begins at 13:00. Afterwards, there will be a cozy get-together until the award ceremony.
The Concorso d'Eleganza awards ceremony and trophy presentation begins at 15:15. The participants leave again at around 16:00.
You can register with a suitable Italian and at least 30-year-old classic car on the event website until February 29, 2016.
