The new St. Moritz International Automobile Week was relaunched last year for the first time since 1930. The Bernina Gran Turismo hill climb, which has been held since 2015, was initially supplemented by the new Kilomètre Lancé kilometer race and the Motorsport Rendezvous.
For various reasons, this year's second modern International St. Moritz Automobile Week has now been moved forward by one week from its traditional place in the motorsport calendar and will now take place from September 2 to 11, 2022.
Two new rallies
The Super Stick Shift (05. to 07.09.22), a sporty outing for analog super sports cars from 1974 to 1995. From Porsche 2.7 RS to Lamborghini Countach to Ferrari F50, everything that was built in epic sports cars meets: 2 doors, gearshift, no electronics! Let the fun begin!
The Targa Poschiavo Engiadina (03. to 05.09.22), which is aimed at pre-war classics built between 1905 and 1927, i.e. those who are too young for "London to Brighton" and too old for the "Mille Miglia", will be much more relaxed.
Mobility Forum in St. Moritz
The third new addition to the St. Moritz International Motor Show is the Mobility Forum St. Moritz. It offers a platform for presentations, talks and discussions. One of the focal points will be eFuels, as well as other alternative fuels and other topics of interest to today's mobile society. A detailed schedule of topics will be published in due course.
Again with Kilomètre Lancé, Concours and hill climb
The existing regular events will of course remain part of the Automobile Week, which will once again be opened by the Kilomètre Lancé (02 to 04.09.22) at Engadin Airport in 2022.
The Motorsport Rendezvous will once again be held as an "automotive garden party" in the park in front of the Kempinski Hotel, but has been extended to two days: While the first day is dedicated to the presentation of the vehicles, the second day has been designed as a pure "driving day", whereby participants with non-road-legal racing and sports cars can drive along with alternative vehicles to have all the fun as well. The Motorsport Rendezvous will take place from 6 to 8.09.22.
The final highlight of the week will once again be the Bernina Gran Turismo, which will take place in its eighth edition from 8 to 11.09.22 and will defend its top position in the worldwide Historic Racing calendar.
Full speed ahead
So while numerous events are unfortunately still affected by cancellations and uncertain postponements, the organizers around the collector and enthusiast (and founder of the legendary Bernina Gran Turismo), Kurt Engelhorn, are focusing on growth for the second time in a row and are continuing to expand the International St. Moritz Automobile Week.
