The 22nd British Classic Car Meeting St. Moritz is still around a month away. Time to take a look at the field of participants, which once again features many gems of British automobile history. For example, there will be three Austin-Healey 100S from 1955 at the start. Only 50 of these vehicles designed for racing were produced worldwide.
Also registered is a Belsize RM6 14/30 from 1925 and a Bentley 4.5 Litre Le Mans from 1929.
Or two Jaguar SS 100s: this roadster model is regarded as the very first Jaguar. It marks the beginning of the brand that supports the BCCM St. Moritz as its main sponsor and is 80 years old this year.
In total, the 150-strong field of participants includes over 50 Jaguar vehicles, around 25 Rolls-Royce classics, 30 Bentleys, 15 Aston Martins, 15 Austin-Healeys and various open-class vehicles such as an Alvis Firefly Speciale 4.3 from 1933.
Experience classic cars up close
Spectators at the 22nd BCCM St. Moritz will have numerous opportunities to marvel at the participating classic cars up close. The registration in St. Moritz Bad on Friday, July 10, for example, is ideal for this. From 12 noon, all the vehicles will arrive at the Plazza dal Rosatsch, where they can be seen for several minutes. The vehicles can be seen in action during the Saturday rally to the neighboring Valtellina: The "Valtellina" rally leads from St. Moritz to Bormio and Tirano and back in two stages on July 11.
The start is from 8 am in front of the Badrutt's Palace Hotel. Arrival is planned for around 3 p.m. in the village center of St. Moritz. The exact route can be found at www.bccm-stmoritz.ch under "Roadbook".
Concours d' Elégance as the highlight The real highlight of the meeting is the Concours d' Elégance in the center of St. Moritz on Sunday, 12 July, which is popular with the public. Several thousand spectators will not want to miss this beauty contest and award ceremony on the Via Serlas. The vehicles are on display from 10.30 am to around 2 pm. This summer, a fashion prize will also be awarded for the first time: This will be won by the "best dressed team" among the BCCM participants who create the most beautiful overall visual image with their vehicle.
