In 1964, Serge Pozzoli, Jacques Potherat and a few enthusiasts founded the 'Coupes de l'Age d'Or'. At the time, this event was held as part of the supporting program of the Formula 1 Grand Prix and presented historic racing cars on the starting grid. It was then renamed the 'Grand Prix de l'Age d'Or' and moved to the Linas-Montlhéry circuit. 50 years later, this event still exists and enjoys a very good reputation in France and the surrounding countries.
50 years - Back to the origins
In the 80s and 90s, the organizer 'Peter Auto' was responsible for the event, after which it passed into other hands. For the 50th anniversary, however, it is once again under the management of Peter Auto, raising expectations of a diverse field of starters all the more. A few big surprises have already been promised, but we won't find out until next weekend.
However, a retrospective of the 1964 A.C.F Grand Prix has already been announced, in which many of the cars from that era will be competing.
Lush starting field
300 vehicles will compete in nine categories over three days: Classic Endurance Racing, Sixties' Endurance, Trofeo Nastro Rosso, Heritage Touring Cup, Lurani Trophy, European Touring Car Championship and Historic Grand Prix Car Association are the categories.
