The next historic Grand Prix Monaco will take place from May 11 to 13, 2018 and some decisions with significant consequences have already been announced.
At the request of the participants, the pre-war cars will take part in a real race again next year, after only demonstration runs took place in 2016. This Grand Prix category became known as Formula 1 after the Second World War, and the cars from back then now compete in the A-Series in Monaco, among other places.
The sports car race has also been rethought and now features the most beautiful sports cars from the first post-war decade, including the cars that took part in the only sports car Grand Prix in Monaco in 1952.
In addition, Formula Junior and Formula 3 will no longer be part of the 2018 program. The organizing team and the Automobile Club de Monaco want to focus on Formula 1 instead.
180 Grand Prix cars will be selected to take part in the corresponding race in Monaco. With five specific grids covering the first thirty years of Formula 1, a starting grid will be put together that you will hardly ever see anywhere else.
Over two and a half days in Monaco in 2017, participants will once again be able to share their passion for motorsport with spectators and relive the past.
