Just a few days ago, the Duke of Richmond and his crew were still in good spirits about holding the legendary Goodwood Members Meeting despite the difficult situation with the coronavirus. In the meantime, however, the good sense of the hour has apparently prevailed over the music of the engines in the UK and the event has been postponed.
The organizers inform:
In 2014, after a break of 48 years, the 72nd Members Meeting with circuit races was started in Goodwod, which was first held in 1949. The 78th edition in 2020 had been uncertain for several weeks due to the coronavirus, but the organizers around the Duke of Richmond have relied on the instructions of the British government and planned precautionary measures to counter the risk of the pandemic. However, the current threat situation has worsened to such an extent that even the British can no longer be responsible for holding major events. The Goodwood Members Meeting has been postponed indefinitely, but tickets remain valid.
The Duke of Richmond would like to thank the motorsport fans who were looking forward to this event for their understanding.
Goodwood battled snow in 2018 and the pandemic in 2020. Let's all hope that the thrilling races on the legendary circuit will resume in 2021 at the latest!
