For the first time, Gooding Christie's will be the official auction house for an auction at the Rétromobile Paris in 2026. The auction will take place on January 29, 2026 within the Rétromobile and is expected to include around 60 to 90 automobiles.
At the premiere in January 2025, David Gooding and his team will bring four Alfa Romeo 6Cs from the collection of Angela and Alan Cherrett. The couple have been collecting and driving pre-war Alfa cars since the 1960s and have also published highly acclaimed books on the 6C and 8C.
The first of the four cars on offer is an Alfa Romeo 6C 1750 SS Le Mans from 1929, which has been in the collection since the mid-1960s and will now find its way into a new garage for EUR 600,000 to 700,000.
Also on offer is an Alfa Romeo 6C 1500 Mille Miglia Speciale from 1928, for which EUR 300,000 to 400,000 has been set.
An Alfa Romeo 6C 1500 Sport Zagato from 1928 will also go under the hammer for EUR 250,000 to 350,000.
The cheapest way to get into a 6C at Gooding is with the Alfa Romeo 6C 1750 Saloon from 1931, which is expected to cost EUR 100,000 to 150,000. This Berlina is particularly interesting from a historical perspective, as it has retained its original bodywork by Martin Walter of Folkestone to this day.
All four cars will be auctioned without a reserve price.
