With a heavy heart, the Gempen Memorial will not be held in 2020. The popular event will be postponed to September 25, 2021.
Break with the three-year cycle due to Covid-19
Since 2011, the Gempen Memorial has been held every three years in the tried-and-tested tradition. At this classic car event, the teams of drivers compete on the attractive mountain route at the foot of the Gempenfluh at a winding 5200 meters to achieve their own time target from the training run as accurately as possible. The winner is not the fastest driver from Dornach to Gempen, but the participant with the best tactics and the most precise driving skills.
The fourth edition of the event, which is popular with locals and participants alike, was planned for September 19, 2020.
"We've been in the starting blocks for months and have been planning at full throttle," says Urs Müller, Chairman of the organizing committee and ACS Vice President. "But now, with a heavy heart, we have had to decide to postpone the event until next year. Our classic car hearts are bleeding - but considering the circumstances, we had no other choice".
Fourth edition postponed by one year
The ACS Gempen Memorial is now planned for Saturday, September 25, 2021.
The ACS beider Basel would especially like to thank its sponsors, who have promised their support for next year, the numerous registered drivers, the officials for their great commitment and all visitors who were already looking forward to this event for their understanding.
