The "Gaisberg Race for Historic Automobiles" will take place for the fifteenth time from May 24 to 27, 2017. The event is run in regularity mode. The program consists of four different classifications.
Four classifications in Gaisberg
For the City Grand Prix an approximately 1.8 kilometer long track in the old town of Salzburg will be closed! Each participant has to complete 5 laps. The details will be announced in the regulations.
The second classification will be held at the Salzburgring. The participants start on the four kilometer long track, where they have to prove themselves and their skills in steady driving again.
Three races will be held on the Gaisberg mountain course. Over 8.7 kilometers, 670 curvy meters of altitude are covered, a real challenge for the vehicles over thirty years old.
And last but not least, the scoring drive, which is carried out as a regularity rally and has a route length of approximately 150 kilometers. The scoring mode will be announced in the implementation regulations.
The regulations
At the Salzburgring, the speed can be freely chosen (reference lap). On the Gaisberg, the specified target time may not be undercut (average 50 km/h). The regulations for the City Grand Prix and the Gaisberg race will be announced before the start. The winners will be determined by adding up the times of the scoring runs. The winner is determined by the smallest time difference.
All historically significant vehicles, open and closed, single and two-seater touring, sports and racing cars built up to December 31, 1969 are eligible. No road registration is required for racing cars, but this must be reported to the organizer! You can still register until March 10, 2017.
