Tradition and sustainability united Silvaplana Tourism has been focusing on electromobility since 2022 and uses Opel brand vehicles to show the way to a sustainable future. The annual Dino event, at which the latest Opel electric model "Opel Rocks-e live Silvaplana" is also demonstrated, is intended to celebrate nostalgia and modernity together.
The last canton in Switzerland to lift the ban on automobiles The Dino Museum in Silvaplana presents the history of the automobile era. This is comparatively recent on the Julier Pass - cars were banned in the canton of Graubünden until 1925, while all other cantons in Switzerland had already accepted the automobile as a useful means of transportation. In Silvaplana, the strong "stagecoach lobby" prevented a petrol station from being built on the village square for a long time. Since the inauguration of the bypass road on the Julier in 2018, the village center has been spruced up and is now an inviting place to take a stroll.
Information and registration (until June 20) can be found on the event website.
