Last year, the FIVA (Fédération Internationale des Véhicules Anciens) promised to initiate activities to get a younger audience interested in historic vehicles. A step in the right direction was taken on February 7.
The FIVA Heritage Forum brought together experts from all manufacturers to tackle this challenge. "Attracting the interest of younger generations is essential for the future of the historic vehicle movement and for FIVA's long-term strategy," said Dr. Mario Theissen, Senior Vice President of FIVA.
The manufacturers also want to make an effort to rejuvenate their target audience. Whether racing events for younger participants or apprenticeships for budding experts - countless ideas were discussed and some of them are to be implemented in the future.
"It was very encouraging to have such fruitful discussions at a meeting with some of the largest and most renowned vehicle manufacturers in the world," concluded Dr. Theissen.
We are certainly looking forward to seeing what FIVA comes up with and what ideas make it to the ground ...
