The dates for the 23rd Ennstal-Classic and thus also for the Chopard Racecar-Trophy have been finalized: From July 15 to 18, the two events will once again take place in Styria.
Thursday prologue and Friday marathon
After the welcome event at Schloss Pichlarn, the rally starts on Thursday with a prologue of around 380 km. On Friday, the participants can then tackle a 450 km marathon and on Saturday, the last day, the rally reaches its climax with the finale in Gröbming. With the ticking of the stopwatch, the Ennstal-Classic leads through the most beautiful areas of Austria, through picturesque valleys up to the tree line.
Who may...?
The Ennstal-Classic has a fabulous starting field, the celebrity density of steering wheel legends, athletes, company bosses and TV stars is high. Vehicles built before December 31, 1972 are eligible to participate.
Whether Steyr-Puch or Ferrari SWB, vehicles with an interesting CV and a past that took place in the powder steam of motorsport, cars that set technical milestones in their day, are welcome. However, the field of participants is limited.
Winning prizes and year of manufacture classification
The overall winner receives the"Mercedes-Benz Trophy Alfred Neubauer". The top five in the overall classification will be awarded a specially designed trophy. Gold medals are awarded for sixth to tenth place, silver medals for 11th to 20th place and bronze medals for 21st to 30th place. A separate classification will be drawn up from the overall classification in each of the four epochs relating to the year of construction:
Era 1: up to 1934
Era 3: 1951 - 1960
Era 2: 1935 - 1950
Era 4: 1961 - 1972
The entry fee per team (driver and co-driver incl. four evening events and starter package with team clothing, commemorative medals, exclusive accommodation) is 2,300 euros. Entry deadline is February 28, 2015.
Chopard Racecar Trophy
The Chopard Racecar Trophy is an independent competition that takes place on the days of the Ennstal-Classic. The drivers of the racing and rally cars can put their jewels through their paces on closed roads and at the same time experience the legendary nimbus of the Ennstal-Classic with all its evening events.
Sports and racing cars built up to 1983 permitted
The following vehicles are welcome:
Era 1: Monoposto racing cars built up to 1983
Era 2: Sports and GT cars, two-seater racing cars, sports prototypes and rally cars up to 1952
Era 3: Sports and GT cars, two-seater racing cars, sports prototypes and rally cars 1953 to 1983
The entry fee per team, including four evening events and starter package, is 2,000 euros excluding accommodation.
The top three teams will each receive a trophy designed by Christian Nell and presented by Sir Stirling Moss.
The closing date for entries for the Racecar Trophy is March 31, 2015.
