The Austrian government bans major events in summer 2020: This means that the Ennstal-Classic, which should have taken place from July 22 to 25, 2020, has also been canceled!
Another corona victim
Unfortunately, the corona crisis has now also hit our event. Since the government announced a few days ago that all major events where spectators or fans cannot be excluded will be banned until August 31, the Ennstal-Classic will also disappear from the schedule next summer (July 22-25).
Character of the event does not allow any compromises
Under the given circumstances, a postponement to an autumn date also seems too risky to us, because the event comprises several evening events where up to 800 people are gathered in a very confined space and, above all, it lives from the teams from 15 nations who would not be able to participate without freedom of travel.
It lives from our many partners and not least from the enthusiastic public along the route and in the stage towns. Safety distances and mouth-nose protection could not be provided reliably enough.
29th edition of the Ennstal-Classic already being planned
Even if the 28th edition of the Ennstal-Classic cannot take place, to our great regret, this does not prevent us from starting to plan the 29th edition. It should take place from July 21 - 24, 2021. We will take all the ideas we have for 2020 into next year. The starting field - which has already been published - remains valid for 2021.
The organizers of the popular rally express their sincere regret, but at the same time are already looking forward to the 29th Ennstal-Classic 2021 and a reunion with the participants.
