The Ennstal Classic has been one of the best-known classic car events for many years. Last year, the enterprising organizers added the Racecar Trophy to it, which got off to a good start.
And this is how Helmut Zwickl and Michael Glöckner describe the recipe for the Ennstal Classic:
"We are advocates of pure, sporty motoring without cut changes and computer aids. We're not a puffing ride, no math school work and no skills competition. The Ennstal explores the limits of what is possible with the cars of yesteryear on the roads of today. Without electronic odometers, with analog watches. You can reach a summit on foot, by chairlift or in the Direttissima through a steep wall. The Ennstal is the Direttissima, and the sense of achievement is correspondingly great. Brand diversity is everything to us, it should be characterized by special cars that set standards in technology and sport in their day and are cult objects today."
Now that the FIA World Motor Sports Council has officially approved the 2014 Formula 1 calendar, the date of the 2014 Ennstal-Classic has also been set: Gröbming will be the venue for the 22nd Ennstal-Classic between July 9 and 12, 2014.
And you can already register if you have a suitable car that was built before December 31, 1972.
