"NEVS" is the name of the brand under which the new cars, which will be launched from the remnants of Saab and the developments of the new Chinese parent company, will be marketed.
"We have great respect for Saab's history, but we want to be recognized as something new," Mattias Bergman, President of NEVS, was quoted as saying.
NEVS will launch a new type of electric car based on the 9-3 platform in 2017. Saab as a brand is to disappear. This marks the end of around sixty years of automotive history, but we will certainly always remember the outstanding vehicles from Trollhätten.
After all, the headquarters and the main research and development department are located in Trollhättan, so at least some of the genes should have an impact on the new products. However, production will be in China, as will other development departments.
