In November 2024, pictures of a parking/scrapyard in Kirchberg (SG) made the rounds, showing a hodgepodge of mainly German and Italian classic and vintage cars.
Among the 70 or so cars from the seventies and eighties were the Alfa Romeo Sei, Lancia Gamma, Audi 100, Opel Rekord, BMW Siebner, Opel Senator, Audi Coupé, Fiat 130 and many other rarities that are no longer seen on our roads every day.
An order had already been issued in August 2024 requiring the site to be cleared. However, little happened at first.
Now, however, the Tagblatt can report "movement in the matter". According to municipal president Roman Habrik, the legally binding order is still being complied with. According to the Tagblatt, a buyer has now been found who will take over all the cars, which the owner of the property, Joe Blättler, was also able to confirm according to the Tagblatt.
However, it is unclear what will happen to the young classic cars that are now being removed. For many of them, restoration will hardly pay off and even storing such a large number of vehicles is not cheap.
