The Emil Frey Classics Drive will take place for the first time from August 17 to 20, 2019.
A multi-day drive past glistening lakes and stunning mountain backdrops will take you along some of the most beautiful routes Switzerland has to offer. In an exclusive setting, with a maximum of twenty vehicles, a stylish pleasure drive is launched
Stately stud farm
In the southern Black Forest, right on the Swiss border, in a picturesque landscape lies Hofgut Albführen, a well-known attraction for horse lovers, those seeking relaxation and connoisseurs.
Participants meet here on the first day to visit the stud farm. Afterwards, the lovingly furnished clubhouse invites you into the world of culinary delights. The drivers' briefing is held over a standing lunch, while the crews are treated to fresh regional products. Equipped with the road book, the 90 kilometers to the Hotel Bad Horn are then taken under the wheels.
You can't get any closer to the lake!
Elegance, comfort and homeliness, as well as its location directly on Lake Constance, give the Bad Horn Hotel & Spa an incomparable aura. After a refreshment break and an aperitif on the terrace, a first-class cruising and cultural experience is on the program: the hotel's own motor yacht "Emily", reminiscent of the legendary wooden yachts of the 1930s, is used for the crossing to the Bregenz Festival. The Captain's Dinner will be served, after which Giuseppe Verdi's masterpiece "Rigoletto" will be performed on the lake stage.
A cheese and dessert buffet on board during the return journey to the Hotel Bad Horn provides a crowning finale. A nightcap in the "Faro" bar is the perfect way to reflect on the day.
Magnificent views
On the second day, the Classics Drive takes you along a breathtaking route around 100 kilometers into the Bündner Herrschaft region to the traditional Donatsch winery. After a tasting in the wine cellar with fine wines from Malans, there are delicious Grisons specialties to enjoy in the cosy wine tavern.
Strengthened, the participants then tackle the 110-kilometre journey to Champfèr, where they can visit another first-class place of relaxation and enjoyment, the "Giardino Mountain".
In the evening, a mystical drive is followed by a short walk to the El Paradiso restaurant. The "El Paradiso" presents itself sensually in a spectacular mountain landscape. "Close to heaven" is how the team advertises its modern cuisine, which combines the traditions of the Engadin with influences from Italian, French and global cuisine.
And finally, dolce vita!
The journey continues to Switzerland's sunniest region. In Ticino, where the last mountains of the Alps meet the first lemons, lies the "Giardino Ascona", where you can enjoy yourself surrounded by a Mediterranean park and a touch of dolce vita. Or you can use your free time for a trip to the romantic alleyways of Ascona's old town. Of course, you can also simply relax on the lakeside promenade.
Later, as the sun slowly retreats behind the mountains, the event participants meet in a relaxed atmosphere in the picturesque garden of the Hotel Giardino to nibble from the Mediterranean antipasti and salad buffet, followed by a delicious barbecue. This evening rounds off three eventful days before the individual journey home the next day.
This fascinating trip is exclusively limited to 20 vehicles and a maximum of 40 participants. Early registration is therefore recommended.
The cost of the Emil Frey Classics Drive is CHF 2,450 (incl. VAT per person in a double room) or CHF 2,900 (incl. VAT, per person in a single room).
