As is well known, the density of classic cars in Switzerland is very high, so resourceful minds are always thinking about whether there might be room for a new classic/young car center where enthusiasts, interested parties and tradespeople could meet. Time and again, initiatives come to the public's attention, but many disappear again at the project stage, such as the Meilenwerk, which is to be located in Horgen.
Because a lot is happening in the youngtimer sector in particular, Philippe Schär considered taking a closer look. After extensive analysis, however, he came to the conclusion that a bundling of classic and vintage vehicles would be a more sensible approach.
Classic Motor City therefore wants to be a world of experience that includes all classic vehicles. The new concept is also intended to appeal to families and companies, and the vision is therefore a combination of elements from classic classic car centers, shopping centers and theme parks.
Mixed use with retail partners, entertainment, further education, retail, events, cinema and gastronomy should ensure the profitability of the overall concept.
Location sought
After lengthy clarifications and many discussions, Schär is now looking for a suitable site for Classic Motor City. The site should be around 15,000 to 25,000 square meters in size and the aim is to find a location in the middle of Switzerland (Aargau/Lucerne area). A direct connection to public transport is a must, and the most ideal location would probably be a brownfield site or a leftover empty space in the agglomeration. Schär is assuming a total investment volume of over 50 million francs, so this is not a small box.
Zwischengas will be happy to put interested parties in touch with Philippe Schär.
