The date for the anniversary of the ADAC Eifel Rallye Festival has been set: Following the cancellation of the 2020 edition due to coronavirus, the 10th anniversary celebrations will now take place from July 22-24, 2021. As in the previous nine years, around 160 automobile witnesses from 50 years of rally history will once again take fans on a tour of this fascinating sport over the festival weekend.
Once again, tens of thousands of spectators from all over Europe, but also from other continents, will come to celebrate the 'class reunion of international rally sport' in the Volcanic Eifel around Daun. The exquisite vehicles of the participants are an important success factor. "The quality of the vehicles has developed to an extraordinary degree in recent years. The participants' awareness of the originality of their gems has become much greater," says Reinhard Klein (Cologne). He is responsible for the composition of the starting field and ensures that only originals or faithful replicas of the historic vehicles are at the start of the demonstration drives.
Lots of new things for the anniversary
From the new shakedown at Bodenbach to a completely new Friday stage and an additional highlight on Saturday: the anniversary festival offers participants and fans many new perspectives. The cornerstones of the event will remain the same, "we want to stick to the tried and tested, but add new details for participants and fans to create additional attractive highlights," says Otmar Anschütz (Daun). "We have lots of new ideas, and the cancellation of the 2020 edition means we have another year to prepare everything," he adds with a wink. The excitement ahead of the festival anniversary is building among drivers, fans and the entire historic rally community.
