The Concours d'Elégance Suisse in Coppet is already well established. It will take place for the third time on June 22-24, 2018. The Aston Martin DB4, which is celebrating its 60th birthday, will be specially honored this year. As before, there will also be a competition class with the classics of the future and one with Swiss bodies.
Varied program
The Tour d'Elégance takes place on Friday with a ride through the beautiful countryside around Coppet, which is located between Geneva (15 minutes) and Lausanne (30 minutes).
On Saturday, the cars will be parked at the castle in Coppet, but will also be open to the public at 12:00. The prizes will be awarded on Sunday.
From design to modernity
The main theme of the third edition is "1920 to 1939 - From Design to Modernity" and is thus dedicated to one of the most fundamental car design development phases.
In addition to the Aston Martin DB4, the Ferrari 250 GT Pinin Farina Coupé and the 40th anniversary of the Paris-Dakar Rally will also be celebrated.
An international jury will judge the approximately 80 cars in 10 classes and select the most beautiful and elegant cars.
Certainly one of the highlights of the Concours will be the unique Ferrari 250 GT Berlinetta Speciale from 1962, once designed and built by Giorgetto Giugiaro and Nuccio Bertone.
Two very special Bugatti Type 57 Atalantes, which are hardly ever shown together, will also attract a lot of attention.
It will be interesting to see whether the weather will be as good again for the third edition as it was a year ago. An interesting selection of historic vehicles is guaranteed; after all, western Switzerland in particular has a large reservoir of rarely seen classics to offer.
