The "Oldtimertreffen Schafisheim OTS" association is disbanding. On 08.03.22, it was decided at an association meeting not to undertake any activities for another classic car meeting in Schafisheim. The members present approved a motion to dissolve the "Oldtimertreffen Schafisheim OTS" association.
The last classic car meeting took place on September 3, 2017 at the Labhart nursery in Schafisheim. With over 700 vehicles and around 5000 visitors, the meeting was an overwhelming success that was never expected. It was therefore logical that the success story should continue every two years. However, there were several reasons why no more meetings were organized in 2019 and 2021: The total overhaul of the Schafisheim thoroughfare from spring 2019 to March 2021 prevented the event from taking place for traffic reasons alone. The coronavirus pandemic from spring 2020 to 2022 also prevented festive events of this size. Several members of the organizing committee also announced their resignation after the 2017 meeting.
After 15 years and 6 wonderful classic car meetings in Schafisheim, a long-standing success story is coming to an end. The dissolution was very difficult for the members, as they all put their heart and soul into the meetings. As a non-profit association, the members present also decided to donate the existing association assets, including reserve capital (bad weather provision), to Swiss Solidarity for the benefit of war victims in Ukraine. The amount of CHF 17,000 was transferred at the beginning of April.
The association management would like to thank all the loyal helpers who were involved in one or more of the festivals. It was only thanks to them that the events could be held successfully and without incident.
