From August 21 to 23, the RAID will take you through landscapes that seem to be made for automotive passion: the French Jura, Burgundy, the Vosges and Alsace - in short, the RAID is going back to its beginnings with its legendary series of trips to France. The RAID Suisse-Paris is certainly remembered by many. But times are changing, and Paris has become a difficult destination for classic cars. But France, its charm, the landscapes, criss-crossed by major highways and with their small routes away from the main traffic, nothing has changed and that's a good thing! That's why the renaissance of the RAID offers participants around 1,000 kilometers of challenging and enjoyable routes - far away from traffic, but with all the more riding pleasure, character and history.
A journey through time and landscape
The start is in the historic town of Laufen near Basel - a deliberately chosen prelude that sets the tone: This is not just about riding, but about the experience as a whole. From there, the route leads in two stages through the Jura as far as Dijon, before continuing through Burgundy and the Vosges to Strasbourg and finally ending at the legendary automobile museum in Mulhouse.
Lonely roads, picturesque villages and enthusiastic spectators line the route - while historic backdrops await the participants in the evening. Whether in the Château de Chailly, whose walls date back to the 12th century, or in the listed Hotel Les Haras in the heart of Strasbourg: the day always ends with a touch of grandeur.
Ambition meets passion
But the RAID would not be the RAID without its sporting component. FIA-compliant road books, state-of-the-art timekeeping and carefully designed stages challenge man and machine in equal measure. At the same time, the character of the rally is retained: It is not about pure speed, but about precision, teamwork and the shared experience.
The next chapter in RAID history
The year 2026 also marks a turning point for RAID in organizational terms. An experienced and well-coordinated organizing committee under the leadership of Alain Bichsel, the son of RAID founder Hans A. Bichsel, takes over responsibility. Together, they will lead the RAID into the future with great appreciation for its tradition, paired with innovative new ideas and supported by modern technology.
The RAID 2026 therefore promises nothing less than the perfect symbiosis of driving culture, sporting aspirations and an exclusive experience - based on many years of experience and tradition.
The registration period only runs until the end of April - so if you want to take part, don't delay, as the number of participants is limited to just 35 vehicles.
