On the first weekend of June, from June 5 to 7, 2015, the second edition of the Historic Trophy Nürburgring will take place in the shadow of the Nürburg. However, the event has a much longer tradition.
The first international classic car festival for the Jan Wellem Cup took place at the Nürburgring back in 1983. In 2011, the race was renamed the ADAC Eifelrennen before the Historic Trophy Nürburgring made its debut last year.
In direct contact with drivers, mechanics and the teams
The event has retained its fundamental character over the years: Hardly any other motorsport event offers spectators such an in-depth and direct insight into the exciting processes surrounding the action on and off the track. For example, every admission ticket grants unlimited access to the paddock at no extra cost.
Racing fans can experience at first hand how drivers, mechanics and teams prepare for the training sessions and races. Where else do you have the opportunity to have "petrol talks" with the drivers? Or the chance to look over the mechanics' shoulders as they carry out repairs and set-up work under time pressure?
Racing spectacle in the Green Hell too
Another special feature of the Historic Trophy Nürburgring is the inclusion of the Nordschleife in the program on all three days. In addition to the 3-hour race and the demonstration run of the pre-war racing cars of the FHR Vintage Nürburgring, club and regularity runs will also be held on the legendary track that Jackie Stewart called the "Green Hell".
For the first time in several years, the event will once again include races and scoring runs for cars as well as motorcycles and sidecar teams.
Automobile beauties at the brand club meeting
Lovers of well-maintained young and oldtimers in standard condition can look forward to the big brand club meeting, where several hundred proud owners will present their highly polished "treasures". Fans of Mercedes-Benz, Opel, Ford, Steyr-Puch, Porsche, Triumph and many, many more are guaranteed to get their money's worth here. The owners not only present their automotive favorites statically, but also show them off in the regularity runs on the Grand Prix circuit and Nordschleife.
