In keeping with tradition, the SHVF (Swiss Historic Vehicle Federation) delegates' meeting took place on April 23, 2022 at the Swiss Museum of Transport in Lucerne. 108 presidents or delegates from Swiss clubs with historic vehicles were in attendance. President Bernhard Taeschler chaired the meeting, with a number of topics on the agenda.
There were many interesting things to hear and see. The President of the FIA (World Federation of Veteran Vehicles), Tiddo Bresters, delivered a message of greeting and explained to those present the task and objectives of the World Federation and how we can all master the challenges of the future together.
Six new clubs were accepted:
1. Mazda Rotary Club (Switzerland), 46 members
2. Classic Car Club Safenwil, 178 members.
3. Oldtimer Club Chur, 40 members.
4. Citroën Maserati Club Switzerland, 45 members.
5. DKW Owners Club, 115 members.
6th Club Citroën Suisse 34-57, 212 members.
The President's annual report was followed by Felix Aschwanden, Technical Department, who spoke about the FIVA Identity Card. Because the data can now only be recorded in English and digitally, there is a massive additional burden. Felix Aschwanden and volunteers are now entering the data from the applications that were still submitted manually into the new system.
Ruedi Müller took us into 2022 with a review of the past year, which looks promising. Over 45 events were registered for the Swiss Historic Vehicle Days throughout Switzerland! Two classic car events are planting trees, the Microcart Meeting in Wohlen and O-iO (Oldtimer in Obwalden). Together with the IgFS, the SHVF had a stand at Cultura Suisse to position mobile culture in the "established" cultural scene.
The new Data Protection Act (DSG) and its impact on clubs was the subject of many questions, and Rainer Riek gave a presentation on this increasingly important topic.
This was followed by the usual agenda items such as the annual accounts, auditors and discharge. The proposals of the Board of Directors were approved (continuation of Historic Vehicle Days in 2023, IgFS sponsorship contribution, contribution to the Swiss Classic Awards and the purchase of a new exhibition stand). For 2022, the SHVF was able to reduce the clubs' contributions by a coronavirus discount of 15 or more percent.
