In recent years, visitors to Stuttgart's Retro Classics have had to do without a live auction, but the hammer will fall again in 2016. The German auction house Classicbid (Auktion & Markt AG) will be auctioning off around 50 classic cars live on Friday, March 18, 2016 from 16:00. The vehicles will be presented before and after on a beach measuring around 1000 square meters.
The auction itself will take place directly at the Classicbid stand (Hall 4, Stand 4 B 70). All dealers and visitors can inspect the vehicles to their heart's content and then bid live on site on Friday or submit a written bid in advance.
The first vehicles are already known and are also documented in the "preview catalog", which can be downloaded online.
There is a Porsche 930 (911 Turbo) from the last model year (1988), equipped with a five-speed gearbox.
According to classicbid, this is an exceptionally well-maintained example with low mileage. Only two previous owners, the second of which was French racing legend and multiple world rally champion Sébastien Loeb. If that's not a good story.
For fans of American muscle, a Shelby GT500 from 1969 could be the right choice.
According to the consignor, the Mustang was reconditioned in the USA, with the chassis, body and engine being overhauled. Wherever possible, NOS spare parts - new parts from the production period - were used, so that the vehicle condition can rightly be described as original - except for the black stripes on the hood, which the connoisseur assigns to the 1970 model year, and the transmission, which the previous owner converted from automatic to manual transmission using original parts; because "Who wants a vehicle like this with an automatic?"
Ferrari Testarossa sports cars are currently experiencing a strong increase in value. The 1992 Ferrari 512 TR offered by Classicbid has been registered to the current owner in France since 2012 and has two other previous owners.
With a mileage reading of just under 50,000 km, it is a young classic in every respect. The impressive sports car - almost two meters wide, but barely over 1.1 meters high - presents itself well-maintained with only minor signs of wear, according to Classicbid. As befits a Ferrari, this 512 TR is painted red, with a black leather interior and red carpets, all in good condition.
