The Bernina Gran Turismo hill climb continues its tradition as one of the most exclusive classic events and returns to the Valposchiavo Pass in the fall of 2026, scheduled for September 11-13. Following the success of the 2025 edition, which celebrated the tenth anniversary of the event's modern revival and a century of motorized transportation on the roads of Graubünden, next year's event will continue its tradition of precision and performance on the legendary Bernina Pass.
Apply now for a starting place
Passionate classic car owners are invited to apply for a starting place in 2026 via the entry page on the official Bernina Gran Turismo website. The BGT selection committee will review the applications in two phases: The first selection will take place in February 2026, followed by a second round in June 2026, after which the application will be officially closed.
In order to preserve the authenticity and character of the event, the number of participants will again be limited to a maximum of 70 vehicles in 2026. Each entry will be selected to reflect the diversity, integrity and spirit that characterize the Bernina Gran Turismo.
Highlights of the Bernina Gran Turismo 2025
The 2025 edition brought together 51 exceptional vehicles on the 5.7-kilometer route between La Rösa and Ospizio Bernina. The starting grid featured some of the most famous sports cars in automotive history: from the rare Bugatti Type 59 Sports from 1934 to the Ferrari 250 GT SWB SEFAC Competition from 1961 and the Porsche 908/10/03 from 1971. A standout moment was the Bugatti Bolide driving on a public road for the first time, driven by collector Fritz Burkard, Le Mans winner and Bugatti test driver Andy Wallace and Bugatti CEO Mate Rimac.
For the first time in its modern history, the Bernina Gran Turismo also reached a global audience through live broadcasts on Swiss Sport TV and on the BGT's official YouTube channel, offering enthusiasts around the world the opportunity to experience the sound of the engines and the spectacle of the Alpine pass in real time.
Rough luxury on wheels
Even in 2026, the Bernina Gran Turismo embodies the concept of "Rough Luxury" - an attitude to life in which authenticity and precision go hand in hand. It can be found in the patina of a well-worn car, in the excitement of pushing a classic car to its limits, and at the end of the day when toasting with a glass of Franciacorta. Somewhere between asphalt, tanned leather seats and fresh mountain air, you can sense an unmistakable style that cannot be created, but can only be lived.
From the first roar of the engines in La Rösa to the summit at Ospizio Bernina, the Bernina Gran Turismo 2026 will be another unforgettable highlight that celebrates the soul of classic motorsport.
Registration for the Bernina Gran Turismo 2026 is now open and can be done here.
