The Klassikwelt Bodensee for classic cars on land, on water and in the air offers an extensive range from May 23 to 25, 2014: Historic cars, motorcycles, tractors, airplanes and boats. In ten exhibition halls and on a total of 80,000 square meters of exhibition space, the classic car world can be seen in all its glory.
Classic classic car appearance at Lake Constance
The seventh trade fair for classic cars at Lake Constance offers enthusiasts and friends of classic mobility a comprehensive insight into an industry that is entirely dedicated to classic cars. Around 800 exhibitors, clubs and participants will be presenting a high-quality range of products and services relating to classic cars. Well-known exhibitors include dealers, restoration companies, spare parts suppliers and accessory and service providers.
Dealer center with premium vehicle sales
Well-known dealers such as Arthur Bechtel and Motorworld from Böblingen will be present in the exhibition hall A4 on over 6,000 square meters of exhibition space. In addition to the large ZF Friedrichshafen stand, numerous international classic car dealers will be presenting a wide range of classic cars. A further 150 classic cars will be on private sale in Hall B5.
Special Junghans time travel show
The fact that many manufacturers are jumping on the retro wave is a clear sign that everything, or at least many things, were better in the past. Just how much better, at least visually, is demonstrated at Klassikwelt Bodensee by an automotive journey through time by Junghans with a special show of around 50 vehicles entitled "Junghans Time Travel through Automotive History".
The variety and beauty of pre-war classics from the De Dion of 1902 to the luxury cars from Maybach, Horch or Packard of the 1920s and 1930s, the Belle Époque, can be admired. The most important early automotive contemporary witnesses with their pioneering technical standards, some of which are still valid today, bring visitors to Klassikwelt Bodensee closer to a time that also turns the heads of today's youth. Included are eight rare racing cars from Miller, Adler, Invicta, Maserati and Ferrari. But also the most important Ford S, N, T, A and V8 models. The vehicles have been brought together on the initiative of the Steim car collection and with the help of important automobile museums such as the Museum Arts & Cars, the Sinsheim Museum, the Maybach, Zeppelin and Horch Museums, the ASC and various private collections.
Speed, Sound & Brands
Klassikwelt Bodensee offers an emotional experience not only for lovers of old sheet metal. At the "Speed, Sound & Brands" fringe event, old and new sports cars are shown together, with classic 300 SLs and original 911s driving around the circuit alongside their modern descendants.
Airshow with well-known veterans
Klassikwelt Bodensee will be showcasing historic mobility in all its diversity and this naturally includes flying veterans: two speedy North American P-51 and Yak-3 warbirds and the deHavilland Dove propeller airliner will be bringing rare aircraft to Friedrichshafen. The restored 1950s vintage deHavilland Dove once even fascinated the Queen of England. Visitors to Klassikwelt with a passion for flying can admire the Dove directly at the trade fair.
The famous triplane of the Red Baron, Manfred von Richthofen, can also be admired in the static display and in exhibition hall A3. Flugwerk Mannheim will also be offering sightseeing flights in the T-6, Broussard, Tiger Moth, Stampe and Boeing Stearman. The airshow will be open daily from 2.30 p.m. to 3 p.m. on the three days of the fair.
Riva dreams in wood and chrome
As in previous years, there will once again be a special Riva show in the West Foyer. With their high-gloss varnished mahogany hulls and gleaming fittings, they will once again show off all their beauty. The Italian Carlo Riva, who celebrated his 90th birthday last year, has named his beauties "My old Ladies". Euphonious names such as Gunter Sachs, Sean Connery, Sophia Loren, Brigitte Bardot, Prince Rainier of Monaco and other greats from the world of film and industry plowed through the lakes of northern Italy and the Mediterranean in their sleek Rivas. Today, around 2,000 Rivas still exist worldwide.
The restored Riva-Ariston with the melodious name "Ciacco" is sure to be an eye-catcher at Klassikwelt Bodensee. The boat was honored as a "historically valuable restoration" last autumn at the Riva boat meeting in Sarnico on Lake Iseo, Italy, on the occasion of Carlo Riva's 90th birthday.
The nostalgia campsite
Around twenty authentic nostalgia campers spend the night on Germany's first nostalgia campsite between the exhibition halls of Klassikwelt Bodensee. From economical small cars such as a DKW sidecar with a Dethleffs Bedouin on the hook to a Daimler with a high engine capacity and a luxurious mobile family home with hot water shower and flush toilet. The sometimes bizarre living rooms and bedrooms on wheels and the original Hanomag and Borgward-based motorhomes will delight campers and non-campers alike.
Seventh Classic World Parade with Cuban flair
After just as many classic cars roared through the streets of Friedrichshafen last year in honor of Count Zeppelin's 175th birthday, this year the "Salsa Parade" will start again at the exhibition grounds. Over 100 classic cars, motorcycles and racing cars will set off on Friday evening after the trade fair closes on the pit stop fair circuit to the sounds of the band "Son Pa Ti".
Afterwards, visitors will experience a Cuban open-air night with tapas and mojitos. Ladies who come in salsa dance attire receive free entry to the party and a free glass of mojito. With the smell of racing oil, burnt rubber and Havana-style cigars, the evening is far from over once the sun goes down.
Spare parts on the parts market
The right parts are often rare and hard to find: Headlights, steering wheels, chrome strips, carburetor systems and much more. The parts market in Hall B1 is the heart of every classic car fair. This is where the real treasures are on offer, where the experts search for the urgently needed spare parts for their aged favorite.
First-hand restoration tips
This year, the Living Workshop of the Schweinfurt Vehicle Academy is the central theme in the club hall area with live demonstrations. Here, DIY mechanics will receive valuable tips. Potential vehicle buyers will learn how vehicle restoration has changed in recent years. To ensure that the valuable patina of these witnesses to classic mobility lasts for many years to come, the Klima Lounge offers not only a special Lamborghini show but also the right air-conditioned classic car garage. At the same time, many renowned classic car specialists will be offering their restoration services.
Historic racing cars at the pit stop
It smells of burnt racing oil and tire rubber in the paddock in Hall A6: here, over 100 historic racing cars are being prepared for their use on the pit stop circuit. This is where the rare cars do their laps. The Graf Zeppelin racing club from Friedrichshafen is mainly represented there as a marshal.
Lively club scene
What would a classic car fair be without classic car clubs? Not only the lovingly designed stands, but also the invaluable tips from the brand clubs enrich the classic car theme. Anyone who has ever restored a vehicle themselves knows how important insider tips from specialists are. The Audi, Mercedes, Alfa, BMW and Opel clubs all meet here. The Pretzel Window Association, the Blaue Wolke Bodensee, the elite Jaguar Association, the DAVC and members of the Graf Zeppelin racing association are also present.
Parking classic cars off-road
If you come to Friedrichshafen with your own classic car, free parking is available on the open-air grounds between the exhibition halls.

Klassikwelt Bodensee 2014 will take place from Friday, May 23 to Sunday, May 25, 2014. Opening hours: Friday and Saturday from 10 am to 7 pm, Sunday from 10 am to 6 pm. The day ticket costs 15 euros, reduced admission 13 euros.
