The Classic Car Academy offers four Saturday morning courses to impart and deepen knowledge of classic car technology. The basic course "Classic car technology at a glance" provides basic knowledge of automotive technology with many practical examples on the vehicle and exhibits. The second course, "Maintenance and preventing breakdowns", deals with necessary maintenance work as well as troubleshooting and repairing breakdowns on the road.
Practitioners as course instructors
The course will be led by: Michel Tinguely, master mechanic, diagnostician, president of the examination committee for vehicle diagnosticians, long-standing aftersales and training manager at Jaguar&Landrover Switzerland, and our workshop manager Adrian Schwarzer, mechanical engineer and mechanic.
Part one: classic car technology at a glance
Have you always been fascinated by the technology of classic vehicles and wanted to understand how they work? On our classic car technology overview course, we will teach you the peculiarities and functions of vehicle technology.
Dates: Saturday, March 4, 2023 (course 1) and Saturday, November 4, 2023 (course 3)

- Understanding theoretical principles using exhibits

Part two: Maintenance and preventing breakdowns
Do you know classic cars as being prone to breakdowns and unreliable? On our course, we will show you what to look out for so that you can enjoy long trips without any worries. Our course focuses on often forgotten maintenance work and how to fix minor breakdowns on the road.
Dates: Saturday, April 1, 2023 (course 2) and Saturday, December 2, 2023 (course 4)

- Preventing common causes of breakdowns in classic cars
- Tips & tricks in the event of a breakdown.

- Maintenance work that can be carried out independently

The courses include coffee / croissants as a welcome drink and during the break, as well as lunch at Lucies Classics. Course documents will be handed out. A combination of courses 1+2 or 3+4 is recommended.
