Several fireside chats were held in the Autohalle in the first part of 2022. The format has been slightly revised for the continuation of the series. Three people at a time will discuss "hot" topics from the classic and modern classic car scene in front of the fireplace in the Cigar Lounge at Autohalle Andelfingen.
The first topic will be "Youngtimers vs classic cars - are young classics taking over from the "real" classic cars?"
New generations of buyers and classic/young car owners, changing needs, different road and traffic conditions seem to be causing a shift in demand towards significantly younger cars. Is this even true? Are the young classics eating away at the old cars?
These questions will be discussed on November 29, 2022 by Reinhard Schmidlin (active in the classic car auction and brokerage business for many decades), Simon Schmid (youngtimer fan and in the driver's seat during the construction of the Autohalle Andelfingen) and Bruno von Rotz (editor-in-chief of Zwischengas and SwissClassics Revue).
Active discussion in a close circle
The guests' questions and contributions to the discussion will also play an important role. To make this possible, there are only around 30 places available.
The evening begins at 18:30 with an aperitif (prosecco/wine/beer/water and potato chips, nuts and puff pastries). The fireside chat will then start at 19:00.
A subsequent dinner is optional and can be reserved directly online. The dinner is not part of the event.
The cost of attending the aperitif and fireside chat is CHF 49.60.
You can register directly on the Autohalle website.
It should be an exciting evening and perhaps at the end you will also know why certain pre-war cars are still very popular, but at the same time post-war sports cars are increasingly losing value? And whether prices for young classics will continue to rise?
P.S. On January 24, 2023, the topic of "Conserve or drive?" will be discussed and on March 21, 2023, the question "Are electronics killing classic cars?" will be on the agenda. Tickets can already be booked for these fireside chats.
