Automobili Lamborghini is reopening its MudeTec ("Museo delle Tecnologie") museum in Sant'Agata Bolognese, which was closed due to the Covid-19 pandemic, to tourists, car enthusiasts and Lamborghini fans. In addition to some innovations in the exhibition, an important sign of the partial return to normality is also to be set.
The future and the past
The biggest news, which coincides exactly with the reopening of the museum, is the unveiling of the new Lamborghini Sián Roadster, which took place virtually at MudeTec. The open-top hybrid super sports car will be on display exclusively within the museum's exhibition until July 12.
Following the lockdown, new regulations now also apply to visits to the museum: The museum is open daily (09.30-18.00) but only accessible by appointment. This is to ensure that all visitors can maintain the necessary safety distance and that the premises are regularly disinfected.
The MudeTec in Sant'Agata Bolognese has been a place of pilgrimage for fans and enthusiasts of the brand for years. Visitors can expect a journey through the history of Lamborghini, from its beginnings to the present day, with innovations and technological excellence that have enriched not only Lamborghini itself, but the entire automotive industry with new concepts and pioneering technological solutions.
Along the way, visitors will discover the brand's values and the most legendary Lamborghini masterpieces, the result of commitment and continuous investment in research and development. An innovative pioneer by tradition, Lamborghini has been looking to the future since 1963, imagining the design and technology of tomorrow.
From the legendary cars of the past such as the 350 GT, the Miura, the Countach and the LM002 to the latest and most exclusive vehicles such as the Asterion (hybrid concept car), the Centenario and the Aventador SVJ, visitors can immerse themselves in the history of Automobili Lamborghini. Passion, mechanics, design and the company's pioneering role in the processing of carbon fiber and forged composites take center stage here.
This is joined by aerodynamics and electronics with innovative solutions that have found their way into the Huracán and Aventador models: the active aerodynamics system ALA, the predictive logic of the LDVI system and the innovative HMI user interface.
Cars and architecture
The reopening of the MudeTec also coincides with new and promising partnerships. The first is Architecture for Exhibition, a project developed by Automobili Lamborghini in collaboration with the Bologna-based architecture academy Young Architects Competitions (YAC), which offers international architecture competitions and training for young architects. Under the supervision of Giuseppe Zampieri, founder of David Chipperfield Architects in Milan, and with the support of some of the world's most renowned architects, the young participants in the competition are given the unique opportunity to work on the MudeTec interior planned for 2021.
Some cars on loan
Some of the MudeTec cars will also be on display at the Cité de l'Automobile, the world's largest automobile museum in Mulhouse, Alsace, France. The exhibition, which will run from July 9, 2020 to January 10, 2021, is the first time in the museum's history that it will be dedicated primarily to Lamborghini vehicles. It tells the story of the car manufacturer, the uniqueness of its vehicles and the dreams that have accompanied the brand and its fans over the years. From the first visionary models to the latest and most innovative vehicles, the exhibition takes visitors through the history of the brand. In addition to the vehicles, numerous archive documents will also be on display.
