In 1947, Ben Pon came across a unique vehicle at the Wolfsburg plant - the so-called Plattenwagen: an in-house construction made for internal transportation tasks.
Fascinated by the idea, he then sketched a small delivery van based on the Beetle. This became one of the most famous cars ever - the Volkswagen Transporter.
At the Techno Classica, Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles is dedicating its exhibition to this memory, with a modern interpretation of the classic and, of course, the well-known models of yesteryear.
The big birthday celebration will then take place from August 3 to 6 as part of the 1st Bulli Summer Festival in Wolfsburg, from where a convoy will set off for Hanover at the end of the festival. There will also be over 50 other Bulli meetings this year.
