The 7th Retro Classics Bavaria will open its doors on December 8-10, 2023 to mark the end of the classic car season in Nuremberg
Rally legends
Monte-Carlo, San Remo, Acropolis, Bandama, Ivory Coast & Co.: This is not about vacation destinations, but about rally cars from the past, which the Rally Legends Cup is presenting exclusively at Retro Classics Bavaria as part of its large special show. Over 30 vehicles from this exciting chapter of rally sport will be on display in Nuremberg, from the Audi Quattro and Lancia 037 to the Opel Ascona 400.
And: In addition to the main actors on four wheels, the driving heroes of yesteryear will also be present at Retro Classics Bavaria and will be giving autograph sessions, for example none other than the 1974 European Rally Champion and two-time World Rally Champion (1980 and 1982) Walter Röhrl and two-time German Rally Champion Harald Demuth on Saturday, December 9, at the Rally Legends Cup stand in Hall 3A.
Training for classic car enthusiasts
"Unfortunately, there's no one left here at our company who knows anything about these old things" - many classic car and vintage car enthusiasts have heard this phrase when it comes to having repairs carried out on their vehicles. This is exactly where the Fahrzeugakademie Schweinfurt has been coming in for years, offering seminars on topics such as handling and repairing contact ignition systems, adjusting valve clearance, making body parts on a roller stretching machine and repairing worn seats.
The seminars help to retain knowledge, pass it on and thus build up the next generation of professionals in the long term. Take a look over the shoulders of the makers of the Schweinfurt Vehicle Academy during their demonstrations - live at Retro Classics Bavaria in Hall 3.
Live: Installation of a drive train in a Capri
The Nuremberg Capri Interest Group has come up with something quite unusual and will be demonstrating the installation of the drivetrain in a freshly restored Capri III 2.8 live on its stand in Hall 3. We are already keeping our fingers crossed that everything will work out so that on Saturday, December 9, at around 3 p.m., the V6 engine can "roar away" for the first time since its complete overhaul.
Another highlight on the Capri IG Nuremberg stand is an original Perana Capri V8 from South Africa: At the beginning of the 1970s, Johannesburg car tuner and manufacturer Basil Green created the most powerful of all production Capris with a 5-liter V8 engine, around 240 hp and a top speed of almost 230 km/h - see this "Über-Capri" in Daytona yellow at the Capri IG Nuremberg stand in Hall 3 .
The live auction of classic vehicles by Classicbid, where around 30 classic cars from all eras will go under the hammer on Saturday, December 9, 2023 at 3 p.m., is also traditionally a thrilling event. There is sure to be something for everyone, whether a small car, luxurious limousine or sports car. And it's time to celebrate, as the RETRO NIGHT® traditionally takes place on Friday evening from 6 p.m. for all visitors in Hall 3A, where the rock band "Race Cats" will heat things up with plenty of gasoline in the air (and in the blood!) and "let it rip".
There will also be a live auction by Classicbid on December 9, 2023 and the popular Retro Night with the "Race Cats" on Friday evening. Further information can be found on the classic car fair website.
