The Brugger Schachen classic car GP has been held every two years since 2013 (with the exception of 2021). The seventh event is now being planned for June 27, 2026.
If you have never been and would like to get an impression, you can find the Zwischengas report on the 2024 classic car GP with over 500 pictures HERE.
The race will take place on a 960m long course, which is largely rectangular in shape. There is no timekeeping and no ranking list is kept. The speed of the field is determined by a lead vehicle in each class.
Vehicles built up to and including 1996 are permitted, in particular
- Vintage cars & historic racing cars
- Monoposti/single-seaters
- Racing motorcycles, racing tricycles and sidecars
Participants do not need a racing driver's license, nor do the vehicles have to be registered, nor is there a noise restriction. However, a valid driving license is required and a modern motorsport helmet must be worn. Co-drivers are not permitted and there is a technical visual inspection of the vehicle before the first drive.
A racing overall appropriate to the time is recommended as the dress code.
