A lakeside promenade located in a picturesque little town on the lovely shores of Lac Léman between Lausanne and Geneva invites you. Many hundreds of the most beautiful examples of classic British cars and motorcycles await visitors (and participants) in Morges. With free admission, whether as a participant or visitor, you can spend an enjoyable fall Saturday on the shores of Lake Geneva. On October 7, 2017, the British classics will be the main attraction in the pretty lakeside town from 10:00 to 17:00.
20,000 visitors last year
Despite the not-so-good weather in the fall of 2016, the event attracted more than 20,000 visitors, who were able to enjoy the sight of over 1,200 classic British cars and motorcycles. These came not only from Switzerland and neighboring France, but also many vehicles from Belgium, Germany, Italy, Spain, the Netherlands and, of course, Great Britain were lined up along the lakeside promenade.
All manner of 1950s MGs, 1930s Austins, 1960s Jaguar racing cars and antique Rolls-Royces and Bentleys were on display. These were joined by a number of rare two-wheeled vehicles from classic brands such as Norton, Triumph and Royal Enfield from the golden age of British motorcycling.
Guest of honor Jaguar
For the 2017 edition of the Swiss Classic British Car Meeting, the organizers are naturally hoping for good weather. The guest of honor is Jaguar, a brand that is celebrating its 95th birthday. In 1945, however, the Swallow Sidecar Company brand was renamed Jaguar Cars Ltd.
The motorcycles will once again be parked together on the quay right next to the Old Port. As usual, all other British makes and models are welcome on the quays and in the park, provided they are 20 years old or older.
A unique event Everyone is welcome. Owners of cars and motorcycles who show off their vehicles with pride and joy, but also those visitors who just want to have a look. The event is free of charge thanks to the generous support of a number of companies and institutions.
The Swiss Classic British Car Meeting is a unique event in Switzerland that both classic car enthusiasts and the whole family can enjoy together.
