It's that time again on September 20. Under the already well-known motto: "Wheels that moved the world", the "Historische Verkehrsschau" association is organizing the 15th mobile event at the Dreiländer-Flughafen Altenhein and, weather permitting, this year even the JUNKERS JU-52 will be circling the site.
We live in an age in which values are changing ever faster and are being adapted to new needs. So it's all the nicer when you can "stop time" for a few hours. The traffic show offers all visitors the opportunity, at least for a short time, to immerse themselves in old memories and relive experiences from earlier times.
Building on the success
Not only the visitors came in torrents, but also the rain. But soon the first rain was over and the area of the airport Altenheim filled up with an astonishing number of visitors, oldtimers and youngtimers. The rolling museum attracted over 3,000 spectators and fans from the entire Lake Constance region. This year's event is once again an insider tip and has a lot to offer.
From motorcyclists to pilots
Altenrhein is a meeting place for everyone from motorcyclists, military personnel with field kitchens and tanks, racing drivers with their formula cars to pilots giving explanations about the Hawker Hunter jet in the Aviation Museum. The Hunter flies across the screen in the Aviation Museum, while old motorcycles and their authentic riders take visitors back to a time without asphalt.
Automobiles and other vehicles, some of which are over 100 years old, are on display throughout the museum. The vehicles have been lovingly cared for by their owners over the years and accordingly have various exciting stories to tell, dating back to 1913.
The flea and parts market is not just a paradise for mechanics and collectors. Almost everyone is sure to find something they've always been looking for because they've always wanted it.
There will also be plenty of refreshments on the festival grounds and a miniature steam locomotive will be running around the site. So the Mobile Museum definitely has something for everyone and if the weather plays along, all the old memories can be revived.
