From 1962 to 1980, Triumph built the Spitfire, a sporty roadster that was actually more of a convertible due to its crank windows. Thanks to mass production technology, the Spitfire could be manufactured cheaply and over 314,000 units were produced. The five series produced differed in terms of technology, but above all in terms of design. This report focuses on the early models, which are shown in many historical and current pictures as well as in the sales literature of the time.
