The Englishman Jem Marsh achieved this feat, and what's more: he offered - with some success - the very model with which production was discontinued at the time! But even this success did not last forever. This report delves into the adventurous history of the small Marcos company and shows some of the exciting vehicles in pictures and text, as well as around 20 brochures, press releases and technical data. In 1964, the small English sports car company Marcos presented the GT model, a flat flounder with a four-cylinder engine and a plywood chassis that promised low weight combined with high torsional rigidity. Around 400 vehicles were built until 1969, when Marcos also switched to conventional tubular frame constructions. This report portrays a Marcos 1600 GT from 1967, describes its unusual technology and shows the car in current and historical illustrations, as well as in original brochures from the time.
