1971 saw the launch of the Alfa Romeo 2000 GTV, the final evolutionary stage of the Giulia Sprint GT, which had first been presented in 1963. With 133 DIN horsepower, a top speed of 200 km/h was now possible and yet there was no lack of everyday manners or comfort. No wonder, the GTV was already popular back then and it still is today. The Alfa Romeo GTV 2000 was the most powerful model in the coupé series produced between 1963 and 1976, which was designed by Bertone. Over 220,000 units were produced and the fan community was considerable. The magazine 'hobby' was also clearly one of them, as the test report published in 1973 mainly highlighted strengths, along with a few weaknesses. The GTV 6 from Alfa Romeo was intended to fill the gap between the existing range and Ferrari. And it actually succeeded. The Alfa was received with open hands, thanks in particular to its brilliant 6-cylinder engine.

Apart from a few complaints, mainly concerning the gearshift and ventilation, the racy coupé was able to impress throughout the test."
