Szawe 1920-1923 - Short-term luxury
Summary
There were around 10,000 car brands and designers - most of which have disappeared. The Szawe brand, which emerged from the bodywork company Szabo & Wechselmann, which specialized in luxury bodies, can also be counted among them. Szawe models were sought after by wealthier customers, as each model could be customized according to the customer's wishes. A new model was created and the chassis manufacturer was changed, but this hardly prevented the company from going bankrupt in 1923.

The Szawe brand was one of the more exotic among German makes. It was founded by the coachbuilding company Szabo & Wechselmann in Berlin-Wilmersdorf, which specialized in luxury bodies and presented a vehicle concept in line with its own ideas at the Berlin Motor Show in 1921. The underbody came from the NAG model C4, which had been adapted for this purpose. What was particularly striking about the Szawe 10/38 PS was the straight-lined body style designed by the artist and engineer Ernst Neumann-Neander, from the unusually shaped, tapered radiator frame to the boat-shaped rear end. The 2536 cc four-cylinder engine from NAG was upgraded from 32 to 38 hp with a new carburetor and modified valve timing. The power unit was also visually upgraded: with polished surfaces, nickel-plated and enameled metal parts, copper pipes, etc.
