Preview (beginning of the article)
It was a double premiere. For the first time, RM/Sotheby's organized an auction at Tegernsee and for the first time, an RM auction started earlier than planned. In fact, Malcolm Barber, once in the service of Bonhams, opened the auction at 15:57. There were good reasons for this, as it was already quite warm in the well-filled auction room. The atmosphere was good and even the Le Mans starting flag from the year 2000 sold well at EUR 15,600. Then it was the cars' turn, but the Porsche 550 had been withdrawn before the auction, which is why only 30 of the 31 announced vehicles worth EUR 26.485 million went under the hammer.
