Summary
To mark the start of the Mille Miglia, RM/Sotheby's organized a small but excellent auction of 19 cars at Palazzo Serbelloni in Milan. Three quarters of them were sold at very respectable prices, the most expensive being a Ferrari 275 GTB. The surprise of the day, however, was a Lamborghini LM002. This auction report analyzes the results of the sales event and shows all the cars in pictures.

Preview (beginning of the article)
The RM/Sotheby's auction in Milan on the occasion of the start of the Mille Miglia took place at Palazzo Serbelloni on June 15, 2021 with an audience. On offer was a clear selection of 19 special cars, 14 of which were from Italian car brands. The cars were valued at EUR 14 million, with an average age of 46 years. 14 (74%) of the vehicles were sold, five - all of Italian provenance - were left behind. The average bid was 86% of the median estimate, with total sales proceeds amounting to EUR 11.6 million or 831,071 per vehicle. The secret star of the auction was the off-road Lamborghini LM002 from 1988, whose V12 engine had already been overhauled twice in its 33 years of existence.
