Preview (beginning of the article)
Every year in March, the Oldtimer Galerie invites guests to Toffen to bring two- to four-wheeled classics under the hammer at the opening of the season. On March 25, 2023, the time had come again and 75 cars and six two-wheelers worth over CHF 2.3 million were looking for new owners. Almost CHF 30,000 was expected per vehicle. More than 40% of the vehicles were offered without a reserve price, so interested parties could hope to find bargains. An auction in Toffen is always a small festival for car and motorcycle enthusiasts. However, the desire to arrive with your own classic car was significantly dampened by changeable weather conditions and sometimes heavy showers. Nevertheless, the auction room filled up by the time the auction started at 13:30, even if the pre-corona crowd numbers could not be reached.
