Italian cars from the fifties and sixties are certainly among the most admired and valuable of their kind. So the idea of designing a special exhibition specifically for these vehicles is not far-fetched. But how do you create the right atmosphere and ambience for it?
The Expo Autoworld Museum in Brussels built a veritable "piazza" for this purpose and placed elegant, cute and fast Italian cars between the rows of houses.
Here you can admire the Alfa Romeo Disco Volante as well as the Lancia Aurelia B24 Spyder, the De Tomaso Mangusta and the Ferrari 275 GTB. And in between you will also find small cars from Autobianchi or Fiat.
One corner further on, you can stroll into the middle of a Concorso d'Eleganza with special Italian-made bodies and enjoy creations by Bertone, Ghia, Pininfarina and Touring, including such rare creations as the elegant Pininfarina Coupé based on the Alfa Romeo 2600.
In the "Show Room", the cars of yesteryear can be compared with their modern-day successors. This is where the eyes of the youngsters shine particularly brightly, because you really don't see a LaFerrari or a Lamborghini Veneno every day.
The Lamborghini models of the present day also have their own stage - the brand is sponsoring the exhibition.
Fiat 8V Festival
The selection of different Fiat Otto Vu derivatives is certainly impressive in Brussels, starting with the Rappi factory bodywork, through Zagato, Vignale and Ghia (Supersonic) to the Siata variants that used the same platform. Only rarely is it possible to compare and admire these rarities as well as at the "Italian Car Passion".
If you get tired of walking around and taking photos, you can also find a street café and treat yourself to an espresso. But who wants to rest for too long in view of all these automotive treasures?
The exhibition "Italian Car Passion - la bella machina" can be viewed at the Expo Autoworld Museum in Brussels until January 31, 2016.
