When the 20th Geneva Motor Show officially opened its doors for ten days on March 16, 1950, it was much more international than its predecessors. In fact, there was a great deal of interest and visitors to the city of Geneva were able to see almost the entire range of automobiles on offer worldwide. 385 exhibitors from 12 countries were represented in Geneva in 1950 with 72 car brands and a few more. Incidentally, only a few of the 72 car brands have survived into modern times; some have long since been relegated to the inventory of forgotten manufacturers, such as Armstrong-Siddeley, Crosmobile, Grégoire, Hotchkiss, Jowett, Lanchester, Minor, Panhard, Rovin, Simca, Standard and Veritas.
