Dorotheum and the auction of classic vehicles have been part of the Classic Expo Salzburg tradition for years, and on the afternoon of Saturday, October 21, 2023, it was time again. 76 lots, including 71 automobiles as well as three tractors, a motorcycle and an engine cutaway model worth EUR 3.8 million, went under the hammer. A total of 15 vehicles (20%) were offered without a reserve price. Two cars, the 1974 Innocenti Mini Cooper, which had once belonged to Rainhard Fendrich, and a 1969 Mercedes-Benz 600 had already been withdrawn before the auction. Compared to previous Dorotheum Salzburg Expo auctions, the really expensive cars were missing. An average of EUR 5,434 was expected per lot. 63 vehicles (83 %) were sold directly, on average for EUR 37,870 (CHF 35,976).
