Every year, Bonhams organizes an auction on the occasion of the "London to Brighton Run", at which only vehicles built up to 1905 are sold, i.e. cars that would in principle be eligible to compete in this prestigious "race". On November 2, 2018, the time had come again and 13 vehicles with a total value of almost £2 million were looking for a new garage and loving owners. The buyer paid £ 599,640 (EUR 683,733, CHF 779,456) for a Darracq 24 hp Model JJ Rear-entrance Tonneau from 1903. This car took part in the famous race from Paris to Madrid in the "tourist class", which was stopped in Bordeaux due to serious accidents. As one of only two surviving cars, it is certainly a rarity.
